In a field one summer’s day, a Grasshopper was singing and hopping about, enjoying the sun. An Ant passed by, carrying a heavy load of grains to store for the winter.
“Why not come and chat with me instead of working so hard?” asked the Grasshopper.
“I’m preparing for winter,” replied the Ant. “You should do the same.”
“Why worry about winter? There’s plenty of food now,” said the Grasshopper.
But when winter came, the Grasshopper had no food and was starving, while the Ant lived comfortably with his stored food.
